Multi-User Software
Software that works beautifully on a single PC may not work so well when run over the network. It may not work at all when two or more users try to use it concurrently. For this you need multi-user software.
Our multi-user software is designed to work under all multi-use circumstances. By using locking techniques, we can ensure that your work will not be corrupted by multi-user clashes. Simple, informative messages will guide you out of these situations whilst allowing the maximum amount of data sharing possible.
These principles apply to Wide Area Networks too. The classic "seat booking system" is often quoted as an example to illustrate this. Our software will allow any seat to be booked from any site in the world, but as soon as the seat is booked at one site, it is immediately booked at all sites. As soon as the operator starts the booking process, the chosen seat or seats are locked, preventing another operator from promising the seat to other customers. Not all software works in this way and the alternatives can be frustrating for staff to use and annoying to customers. Time spent on a booking, only to find that the seat has been booked in the meantime is not only a waste of time - it can lose business.
By using client/server technology, we can combine user-friendly operation at the front-end with powerful database performance at the back-end.
